Cremation costs in plain talk.

Cremation Information [PERMALINK]

Information widely available on the internet will tell you that cremation costs can range in price from $500-$1000 for direct cremation. That's where there is no viewing or service, just "direct cremation". Families typically have memorial services and wakes. But this should be considered the lowest price option.

The next type of cremation is any cremation where "add-ons" such as type of casket (some form of receptacle is used to contain the body), memorial service, rosary and flowers among other things are built into the price. Prices here range from $700-$4700 all over the US.  And costs will vary from service to service even in the same geographic area. The price threshold is climbing and with this option there really is no limit. Services and add-ons can be as lavish or as minimal as the family desires. You can orbit planet earth in a spacecraft able to orbit for 10-240 years for $7400. The spacecraft deteriorates into a shooting star upon reentry.

Cremation is growing in popularity for a number of reasons:

  • Longevity-People are living longer, healthier lives. As a result they can make their own decisions about death planning.
  • Society has a change of heart-Acceptance of cremation across the country shows in the numbers. Tucson and Phoenix it's been said have cremation rates in the 70% range. Other cities like Houston, San Francisco and Portland, Ore. also show healthy cremation rates.
  • Mother Earth-people are becoming increasingly informed about the environmental impact of burial and choosing environmentally safer methods of disposition.
  • Retirement communities-More and more lucky citizens are moving to retirement communities.

The type of cremation we offer is free and cremated remains can be returned to the person of your choosing.
